چکیده
Feeding a growing population, which will reach 10 billion in 2050, is major challenge. Another challenge to increase crops’ productivity sustainable way, as the agricultural inputs may lead greenhouse gas emissions, including N2O fertiliser. Several factors can influence emissions such irrigation, soil management system, or type of fertiliser used. The aim this research study impact each above-mentioned factor on during three seasons maize field, considering nitrogen fertilisers: urea (U), ammonium nitrate (AN), and with nitrification inhibitor 3,4-dimethylpyrazole phosphate (DMPP); two irrigation strategies: demand (100%) deficit (75% demand); comparison systems: conventional tillage (T) systems no-tillage (NT) system. interactions among their effects were analysed through principal component analysis. Higher recorded plots that received highest dose. most favourable reduce derived from activity for crops under Mediterranean climate was NT management, using an dose 75% irrigation.

Enhancing the soil and water assessment tool model for simulating N2O emissions of three agricultural systems
Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a potent greenhouse gas (GHG) contributing to global warming, with the agriculture sector as the major source of anthropogenic N2O emissions due to excessive fertilizer use. There is an urgent need to enhance regional/watershedscale models, such as Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), to credibly simulate N2O emissions to improve assessment of environmental impacts of c...
متن کاملComparison of Organic and Integrated Nutrient Management Strategies for Reducing Soil N2O Emissions
To prevent nutrient limitations to crop growth, nitrogen is often applied in agricultural systems in the form of organic inputs (e.g., crop residues, manure, compost, etc.) or inorganic fertilizer. Inorganic nitrogen fertilizer has large environmental and economic costs, particularly for low-input smallholder farming systems. The concept of combining organic, inorganic, and biological nutrient ...
متن کاملSoil N2O and NO emissions from an arid, urban ecosystem
[1] We measured soil nitrogen (N) cycling and fluxes of N2O and NO in three land-use types across the metropolitan area of Phoenix, Arizona. Urbanization increased N2O emissions compared to native landscapes, primarily due to the expansion of fertilized and irrigated lawns. Fluxes of N2O from lawns ranged from 18 to 80 mg N m!2 h!1 and were significantly larger than managed xeric landscapes (2....
متن کاملEffects of salinity and irrigation water management on soil and tomato in drip irrigation
In this research, the effects of irrigation with saline and fresh water through drip irrigation method and using two irrigation management strategies: M1, M2 (M1 is irrigation with fresh water in alternative with saline water, M2 is saline water in first half time of each irrigation event and fresh water in the second half), on the yield, water productivity (WP), soil salinity, plant height...
متن کاملDirect nitrous oxide emissions in Mediterranean climate cropping systems: Emission factors based on a meta-analysis of available measurement data
Many recent reviews and meta-analyses of N2O emissions do not include data from Mediterranean studies. In this paper we present a meta-analysis of the N2O emissions from Mediterranean cropping systems, and propose a more robust and reliable regional emission factor (EF) for N2O, distinguishing the effects of water management, crop type, and fertilizer management. The average overall EF for Medi...
